Clomiphene citrate (Clomid 100 mg) is a synthetic nonsteroidal drug resembling estrogen in structure. It is widely used as an ovulatory stimulant. Having similarities with estrogen, it can bind to estrogen receptors in the hypothalamus. This prevents the hypothalamus from detecting “real” estrogen, and the hypothalamus, in turn, causes the pituitary gland to secrete more gonadotrophins, such as FSH and LH. FSH and LH stimulate the ovaries, the testes produce more estrogen in women or testosterone in men.
This property of clomiphene is widely used in the treatment of women with premature extinction of ovarian function and for the induction of ovulation. However, prolonged use of this drug is unsafe, as it increases the risk of ovarian cancer.
Clomid 100mg Pharmacology
Clomid 100 mg is recommended for the treatment of women with ovarian dysfunction. Many women who do not succeed in getting pregnant have a disrupted ovulation process. Patients with ovulation problems distinguish patients with polycystic ovary syndrome and patients with unknown causes of amenorrhea.
